Sonya Aurora Madan and Glenn Johansson are taking a break from their Calm Of Zero project to perform again as Echobelly.

As the Britpop band, they recorded their debut EP, Bellyache, in 1993.

Their first album, Everyone’s Got One, reached No.8 in the charts and the next album, On, proved even more popular.

Then health and record label problems interrupted their success in 1995 and ’96.

In ’97 they came back with Lustra. Then, in 2001, People Are Expensive, was released on their own Fry Up label.

Their last album was Gravity Pulls in 2004.

As Calm of Zero, Madan and Johansson have released two mini-albums in the last two years. But they’re back as Echobelly for this special acoustic tour which comes to The Cellars at Eastney tomorrow.

Tickets cost £10 in advance from (023) 9282 6249 or thecellars.co.uk or £12 on the door from 7.30pm.
