Eleven excellent acts in one location, all in one day? What more could a music fan ask for?

Following its successful debut last year, Feedback Festival is back at the Fat Fox in Southsea tomorrow.

And after assembling a fairly heavy, hard-rocking bill last year, the team behind the day, Pilot Promotions, have decided on a change of tack for this year, opting for a more indie-based line-up.

Acts scheduled to play this year include Quartz, Popobawa, SomaHigh, El Capitan, Electric Arms, The Sweetchunks Band, Capital Fuzz, Nomura, The Bayonettes, FlashFires and That Dani Bird.

Pilot Promotions puts on gigs around Southsea throughout the year, but the team are also members of neo-grungers The Underground Pilots, who stepped in to headline last year after their first choice had to drop out.

Mike Hartley from Pilot Promotions says: ‘Last year was a success, it sold out in the end, which was a relief. It was a bit of a rockier line-up than this year though.’

‘With last year being a bit heavy, we thought this year we would lighten it up and make it a bit more user-friendly to any walk-ups who don’t usually come to the Fat Fox.

‘The first band we actually booked was Popobawa, and we thought we would keep it that sort of way.’

The Gosport-based trio have been making waves since forming last year – their debut EP Gardens Of The Alverstocracy has gained airplay on 6Music and their oddball sound has seen them gain fans wherever they perform.

‘Actually Popobawa is the only band on the bill that we’ve not hosted before,’ says Mike, ‘I’ve never seen them before, so I’m intrigued to see what they’re like.’

As to Mike’s pick of the day, he says: ‘Other than all of them?

‘I’m really getting into The Bayonettes again. The Sweetchunks Band are always a bit of a giggle, they’re folk but funny, and El Capitan. They’re a nice bunch of people and a great band. They went down well at Icebreaker.’

Tickets for the day are £5 in advance from The Fat Fox or any of the bands, or £7 on the day. Re-admission will be allowed during the day with your wristband. Search for Feedback Festival 2 on Facebook.
