He counts Jerry Lee Lewis and Ray Charles as two of his biggest influences and has performed with Alan Price, The Animals, The Blues Band, The British Blues Quintet and some amazing all star line ups alongside Long John Baldry, Roger Daltry and Pete Townshend.

He regularly appeared at the Flamingo club in Soho, famed for its wild all nighters during the 1960s.

And, when Jimi Hendrix arrived in England, he went straight to this man’s house to borrow a guitar.

He is known as one of the best good time R’n’B performers and appears regularly with his own Big Roll Band.

He is, of course, Zoot Money. And he’s coming to Portsmouth Guildhall on Wednesday for another one of the venue’s new intimate Live Lounge concerts.

Doors open at 7pm for dinner and the show starts at 8.30pm.

Tickets cost £12 or £18.95 to £22 with a one or two course meal.

Book on (023) 9282 4355 or at portsmouthguildhall.org.uk.
