Among the local and international acts appearing are the 1960s pop band Dakotas and heavy metal band Girlschool who will take to the stage tonight.

Tomorrow’s top two acts are AC/DC tribute act Thunderstruck and Dr & The Medics of Spirit in the Sky fame.

On Sunday, festival-goers can enjoy local ska and reggae band Offbeat Offensive, 1960s to ’80s covers seven-piece Hidden Agenda and soul singer Junior.

While Monday welcomes local musical stage star James Hume, Gosport band The Crush, covers band Bubblegum & Cheese and Glam City Rockers, made up of stars from the glam rock era.

But these are just some of almost 40 acts appearing throughout the weekend.

Organiser, Councillor Dave Smith, says: ‘It’s a community event. Over that weekend there will be many celebrations. It’s a fantastic event for the family. This year we are expecting 35,000 people over the four days.’

Admission to the festival costs £1.
