Nick Courtney was given a Special Achievement award for his work in the Portsmouth music scene as a promoter and also for supporting numerous charitable causes in the area.
Nick said: ‘ It feels good to have won.
‘It’s always nice to be recognised, so it’s much appreciated.
‘The charity workis a bi-product of music. I am able to raise money for others while I’m pursuing my passion.’
He added: ‘This is my 11th year working in music around Portsmouth.
‘It’s always a pleasure to see acts perform here and see how they are doing because obviously a lot of them play for me quite regularly.
‘The musical talent in Portsmouth is considerable.
‘It changes from year to year and there’s always something amazing coming through like Kassassin Street (winners of the Best Band award), who are going to be massive.
‘Jerry Williams, Matt Jarvis, everyone who’s been here tonight should have been here and I think they’re all brilliant performers.
‘I’m absolutely happy to have won – it’s always nice to be part of an evening like this.
‘I think the award is going to have go on the bookcase in the lounge so I can look at it while I watch the television!’
