Professional controversy magnet Lily Allen has been back on form lately after revealing that she turned down an offer to be part of the Band Aid 30 project, which is raising cash to fight Ebola.
She told The Mail on Sunday: ‘It’s difficult to explain why I didn’t do it.
‘I prefer to do my charitable bit by donating actual money and not being lumped in a with a bunch of people like that.
‘It’s like the success club and I’m not really in that club. I don’t think I’m above it all – I’m way below it. But there’s something a bit smug about it.’
On Sunday, you’ve got the chance to see her perform her hits – including the likes of Smile, LDN – as well as tracks from her latest album Sheezus, which she released this year after a five-year break to raise her family.
The eight-date tour is already under way and has been attracting rave reviews.
She is at Portsmouth Guildhall on Sunday, supported by Fryars and Lola Wolf. Doors open 7pm and tickets cost £35.75. Go to portsmouthguildhall.org.uk or call 0844 847 2362.
