A player who rose to prominence when winning the piano section in the televised BBC Young Musician competition in 1996 is booked to perform with the Havant Chamber Orchestra tomorrow (7.30pm).

Previous arrangements between Cordelia Williams and the Havant orchestras came to nothing because of bad weather and other unfortunate circumstances.

But now Cordelia Williams is heading for Ferneham Hall, Fareham, to play Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No 4.

The HCO will again be conducted by Robin Browning in a programme that also includes Mozart’s overture to The Impresario, the Intermezzo, Nocturne and Scherzo from Mendelssohn’s music for A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Haydn’s Symphony No 99.

Tickets cost £20 to £8 (concessions available), buy them online at fernehamhall.co.uk or on 01329 231942.
