A violinist who grew up at Shedfield near Fareham and won a highly prized music scholarship to Winchester College will be soloist with the Havant Chamber Orchestra today.

Edward Daniel, who later trained in London and Hanover before embarking on an international career, will play the romantic Mendelssohn concerto with the HCO, conducted by Robin Browning at Ferneham Hall, Fareham.

The programme begins and ends with music by Beethoven – his dramatic Coriolan Overture and the Pastoral.
