BIG INTERVIEW The Darkness: ‘For anyone to give a damn when we’re five albums in is great’

Indie-pop favourites Scouting For Girls will be playing an incredibly intimate acoustic gig at the Fat Fox in Southsea this month.

The event is part of Wave 105’s Up Close and Personal gig series and takes place on Thursday, June 20.

‘It will be a small and exclusive set from the boys and tickets will be limited,’ says Lisa Illingworth, who handles PR for Wave 105.

The band, who have had 11 Top 40 hits and sold-out arena tours, performed a similar show for Wave in Southampton three years ago.

Now, they are celebrating the release of their Greatest Hits album, due out on July 29, by stripping it right back for this intimate set.

The 45-minute performance will be packed full of hits, including She’s So Lovely and Elvis Ain’t Dead.

Plus, there will also be an opportunity to meet the band for autographs and photos after the show.

Like all these shows, tickets are free.

Tune in to Wave from Monday for a chance to win a pair on air or register online at before midnight on Thursday for another chance at tickets.
