Val Loft, right, recently celebrated her 80th birthday. In a bizzare claim to fame, she once told off the Kray twins for jumping in front of her in the queue at a fish market.

Australian Best Blues and Roots Album 2012 Award-winner Jeff Lang plays Chidham & Hambrook Village Hall tonight.

Jeff, who fended off competition from the likes of John Butler for the above title, is over in the UK for a family visit. And, while he’s here, he’s squeezing in a handful of dates including this show arranged by WemsFest organisers, who will be using the atmospheric village hall for festival events in September.

Jeff’s award-winning album, Carried in Mind, is his 14th release and is available in the UK to coincide with his visit.

Tickets: £12.50 from Harbour Records in Emsworth and on the door from 7.30pm.
