In the middle of a busy summer of festival shows at home and abroad, powerful soul singer Jo Harman is playing a low-key gig tonight.

The gig is billed as Jo Harman and Friends, but she says: ‘This Friday we have something of an “under the radar” gig which, despite the billing, is pretty much the debut gig of Southern Soul Connection at the Chichester Inn.

‘This is pretty much a fun side project – albeit we’re in the studio, so we’re taking it quite seriously – playing music we love.’

The band is made up of Neil Hubbard on guitar, Steve Watts on Hammond, piano and vocals, Phil Mulford on bass, upright bass and vocals, Jack Politt on drums and Justin Quinn on slide guitar and guitars. Jo describes herself as a guest vocalist for the project.

Tickets cost £15 and doors open at 8pm.
