Fresh off the back of being named as Female Vocalist of the Year at the British Blues Awards, Jo Harman is back on the road again.
She was nominated as one of six finalists by a wide-ranging committee of industry experts with the winner then decided by public vote.
Speaking about the award, Jo says: ‘I’m not entirely sure music should be a competition in quite this way, which is why I never particularly mentioned the nomination or campaigned for votes.
‘This does not mean I’m not grateful for the award – I am, of course – thank you to the people involved in the awards, the people who nominated me, the people who voted for me, my band members and the people who have also gone out of their way to send kind messages of congratulations. I thank everyone concerned’.
Jo can add the title to a growing list of plaudits, including being named Breakout Artist of the Year 2014, alongside Gary Clark Jr, by The Blues Magazine.
And following on from last year’s acclaimed debut album, Dirt On My Tongue, the talented south coast-based singer has recently released Live At The Royal Albert Hall, Recorded by the BBC.
