More acts confirmed for new and improved Victorious Festival

A STRING of other top name musicians have also been confirmed for Victorious Festival

It follows the news that global rap star Tinie Tempah will headline the festival.

Other acts now confirmed include The Magic Numbers, formed in 2002, and Peter Hook and The Light, started in May 2010 by the former Joy Division and New Order bassist.

Hayseed Dixie, whose name is a play on the name of legendary metallers AC/DC, and Ben Ottewell, one of the three lead singers from Gomez, will join the stellar line-up.

And up-and-coming acts The Amazing Snakeheads, Honeyblood and Bipolar Sunshine will also appear.

More acts will be confirmed at a later date.

Co-festival organiser James Ralls said: ‘There’s a great range of talent.

‘My personal favourite at the moment is Hayseed Dixie, and Texas will help to bring in families.’

The D-Day Museum, The Blue Reef Aquarium & Southsea Skatepark will once again be part of the festival site and free to festival-goers as part of their ticket.

Planned changes

THE budget for all aspects of this year’s Victorious Festival have ‘doubled’ and extra efforts are being specifically put into revamping entertainment for children.

Shows geared towards youngsters will take place all day over the Saturday and Sunday as opposed to sporadically before.

The overall quality of the children’s acts is also being improved.

The bandstand area will this time round be transformed into an ‘acoustic village’ showcasing some of the UK’s brightest up and coming talent.

The real ale and cider tent will also make a return.
