Award-winning vocalist Tina May will bring the music of Edith Piaf to life at Portsmouth Guildhall tomorrow.

May will be capturing the sound of France’s national icon and musical legend through classics like La Vie en Rose, Hymne à l’Amour, Milord and Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien.

May is a jazz singer who has recorded several albums on the 33 Jazz Records label.

In 1998 she was presented with the Vocal Jazz Award at the BT Jazz Awards having topped the critics’ choice for several years prior to that.

Since then career highlights have included taking part in a Celebration of Humphrey Lyttelton concert at the Hammersmith Apollo , performances nationally and internationally with her own group, and appearances on BBC radio’s Live at the Stables for Dame Cleo Laine and Sir John Dankworth.

The Guildhall show is £10 to £12 for the 8pm performance and £22 with a two-course dinner, beginning at 7pm.
