Four Ivor Novello awards, a number one album, two number one singles and more than 10 million records sales worldwide, but Artful Dodger are still best known for Re-Rewind, the garage crossover track they made with Craig David.

It’s been over a decade since Southampton’s Mark Hill rose to fame as one half of Artful Dodger plus co-writer and co-producer of Craig David’s multi platinum album, Born To Do It.

Artful Dodger then went from strength to strength after the success of Re-rewind, with Movin’ Too Fast, Woman Trouble (featuring Craig David and Robbie Craig) and their now classic album, It’s All About The Stragglers.

Fast-forward to 2012 and Mark is back, releasing under the name Artful and armed with a collection of new music bearing his signature polished production and unquestionable song writing abilities.

The new material is part future garage, part dubstep, part UK garage and part r ‘n’ b. And once again, Mark has worked with the cream of the UK’s emerging talent, collaborating with Ed Sheeran, Donae’o, Terri Walker, Shean Williams and Daniel Debourg.

The first single, Could Just Be The Bassline featuring Kal Lavelle, is now available on Mark’s new label, Workhouse Records.

See Artful in a full band show at The Cellars at Eastney on Thursday, April 19. Tickets cost £6 from (023) 9282 6249 and, or £8 on the door from 7.30pm.
