Review: Kojak’s Revenge at Wedgewood Rooms

Smooth sailing for Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra at Portsmouth Guildhall

Have your say

I never tire of listening to the sounds of Kojak’s Revenge. Every time I am lucky enough to catch them I wonder what hits we will be treated to next?

The beauty of this band is they cover a wide spectrum of hits from Motown, Punk, Rock and Britpop. To see it is to believe it. It’s infectious and Kev and the boys lead the way very early on.

With Frank Wilson’s Do I Love You – any band covering a Northern Soul classic needs a well-deserved pat on the back.

For some, I am sure they were suddenly back at the infamous Wigan Casino.

Smith belts out classics such as The Dandy Warhol’s, Bohemian Like You and The Jam’s Strange Town. Daft Punk’s Get Lucky, featuring Pharrell Williams went down a storm, as did Soft Cell/Gloria Jones’ Tainted Love. On singing The Smith’s Panic, it suddenly becomes apparent that it is possible to be incredibly upbeat to such a classic!

So, Kojaks - who loves ya baby?

We do and we will see you next time.
