Have your say

These days, when someone announces a farewell tour, you take it with a pinch of salt and expect to see them back in five or 10 years’ time.

But when that tour announcement comes with a declaration of terminal cancer and a pledge to tour and record as long as possible, you know this is not messing around.

From the moment Wilko hurtles on to the stage, it’s 90 minutes of full-blooded rock and roll. While the sold-out crowd is vocal in its love for the former Dr Feelgood guitarist, the man himself spares the sentiment and lets his raucous music do the talking, with just the occasional ‘Thank you’ between songs.

Blockhead Norman Watt-Roy on bass and Dylan Howe on drums provide solid backing - but this is definitely the Wilko show.

Here’s hoping this gets to be the longest farewell possible.
