Fans of Scott Matthews will have the chance to hear some new material from the singer-singwriter when he plays at the Wedgewood Rooms in Southsea on Sunday.

Scott built his own studio in 2012 and started recording an album without the help of an engineer or producer. The album, his fourth, is titled Home Part 1 and features acoustic and electric guitars, cello, piano, flute, flugelhorn and drums.

Previously Scott was honoured by the guest appearance of Robert Plant on his album Elsewhere.

Another of his albums, What the Night Delivers, featured another guest performance from legendary double bassist Danny Thompson, who Scott met while performing in Joe Boyd’s stage production of ‘Way to Blue – The Songs of Nick Drake’.

Scott has also played on a number of international sell-out tours with respected artists such as Bert Jansch, Robert Plant, Foo Fighters, Snow Patrol and Rufus Wainwright.

Advance tickets are £15, doors open at 8pm.
