Music from the city once known as La Serenissima – ‘the most serene’ republic of Venice – will be performed by a specialist ensemble of the same name in Monday’s concert in the Portsmouth Chamber Music series on stage at the Guildhall (7.30pm).

The programme of music by 18th century composers Vivaldi, Albinoni, and the lesser-known Montanari and Pisendel will be given historically-informed performances by violinist Adrian Chandler, who founded the ensemble 20 years ago, with Gareth Deats (cello) and Robert Howarth (harpsichord).

Tickets £16, concessions £14, from the Guildhall in person, online at portsmouthguildhall.org.uk, or on 0844 453 9028.
