He’s the man behind many a soundtrack, but Colin Towns visits Southampton in his guise as jazz rock performer.

The musician and composer brings his six-piece Blue Touch Paper to Turner Sims on Tuesday.

Colin Towns is noted as playing in bands formed by ex Deep Purple singer Ian Gillan and composing music for film and television. His 20-piece Mask Orchestra have released five albums.

Towns’ output includes work on Doc Martin and Our Friends in The North.

Blue Touch Paper’s latest album Drawing Breath was released last year.
