The 11th annual Southsea Folk & Roots Festival takes place next week.

Over the August Bank Holiday weekend, from Friday 26 to Monday 29, it features live music and dance at the NBE CSA (Dockyard Club) in Onslow Road and at local pubs.

Artists appearing this year include Jackie Leven (pictured), who is playing on Friday evening with support from Michael Weston King and Holly Kirby.

Saturday night’s headliner is Little Johnny England. While Sunday evening’s show culminates with a performance by Colvin Quarmby.

Also appearing over the four-day festival are Dave Arcari, The Marvels, Jigantics, Reet Petite & Gone and the Aynsley Lister Band, among many others.

The Florence Arms is the official festival pub and will host free-entry fringe events daily throughout the festival, along with Royal Marine Artillery Tavern, which will host events on the Friday and Saturday nights.

Tickets cost £8 (afternoon), £10 (evening) or £16 (all day) from Saraband, The R.M.A. Tavern, or online from webplus.barkingspider.abelgratis.com/tickets/
