Taking in influences from everything from Queen and Elton John to the more expected Robert Smith, The Damned and Kiss, Fearless Vampire Killers will bring their flair for the theatrical to The Cellars this week.
Self-financing and self-releasing through their own Goremount Records imprint, the Vamps meld music, literature and art in a retro-futuristic, steampunk-inspired alternate reality.
The Guardian described them as ‘like Meatloaf but with more bats and a hotter hell.’
Co-fronted by vocalist Kier Kemp and lyrical-wordsmith Laurence Beveridge, the line-up is completed by guitarist and resident artist Cyrus Barrone, bassist Drew Woolnought, and part-beast part-drummer Luke Illingworth.
Debut album Militia Of The Lost received eight out of 10 in Rock Sound and a KKKK review from Kerrang!
They play Eastney on Monday. Tickets cost £8 advance, £10 on the door. Doors at 7.30pm. Go to thecellars.co.uk or call (023) 9282 6249.
