Six-piece Deaf Havana have taken on 2013 with a new album, a new US label, a UK tour and a major gig – opening for Bruce Springsteen.

The band supported the rock giant at London’s Hard Rock Calling festival in June.

Now they’re on the road and heading for Southampton Guildhall on Thursday.

Their third album Old Souls was released last month but had already been making a big impact. The song Boston Square was premiered by Radio One DJ Zane Lowe as his ‘Hottest Record in the World’ in May.

In August the band were again invited onto Lowe’s show to premiere their new single Mildred as ‘The Hottest Record in the World’.

The new material marks a shift in direction from the previous album, Fools And Worthless Liars, as they adopt a more chorus-driven, classic rock style.

Tickets for the Southampton Guildhall gig are £14 from livenation.co.uk or ticketmaster.co.uk.
