Dexy’s, 10cc and The South kicked off Wickham Festival last night.

The four-day music event near Fareham is the biggest festival in Hampshire this year and will also feature The Waterboys tonight, Seth Lakeman tomorrow and Wilko Johnson plus Rolf Harris on Sunday.

You can see a video of Rolf Harris performing Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport at 2011’s Wickham Festival online at

As well as live music on three stages, the festival will feature The Groovy Movie solar-powered cinema, a digital funfair, street theatre, dance, crafts and a children’s entertainment.

There will be a real ale festival, exotic foods fair, late night festival club and much more, all within walking distance of the pubs, wine bars, tea rooms and shops of Wickham village.

Plus, there are camping options if you want to stay on site.

Organiser Peter Chegwyn says: ‘Wickham offers great live music and entertainment for all the family.

‘Our audience just wants to enjoy top quality music in a lovely rural setting.’
