Imagine Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours album, done by The Clash.

That’s how frontman Kyle Falconer describes his band’s new album.

The View release Cheeky For A Reason, their fourth LP, on July 9.

Ahead of that, on Monday, they come to the Wedgewood Rooms in Southsea to give fans a preview of the new material the night before they head to Koko in Camden.

They can also be expected to play hits and album favourites from their previous three releases: the Mercury-nominated No.1 debut Hats Off To The Buskers; the Top 10 follow-up Which Bitch, and 2011’s Top 20 Bread & Circuses.

Cheeky For a Reason, meanwhile, is currently being finished off at Liverpool’s Motor Museum Studios with producer Mike Crossey (Arctic Monkeys, Razorlight, Foals).

How Long, the first single from the album is released the same day.

The band have also released a free download Hold On Now, available from their website.

Most people remember the Scottish quartet for their No. 3 hit Same Jeans, but what most people don’t know is that the band have an unofficial fifth member in Angelo Petraglia, the songwriter and producer best known for his work with Kings of Leon. He’s worked on three of the tracks on the self-penned album.

Support on Monday comes from Blackfoot Circle and Chancers.

Tickets cost £14 from (023) 9286 3911 or and doors open at 8pm.
