New Zealand rhythm and blues band Brilleaux are bringing their high energy style to Portsmouth and Gosport.

The group play a British brand of rhythm and blues in the style of bands such as Dr Feelgood, Wilko Johnson, and Nine Below Zero, and in a similar vein to earlier exponents of the genre such as The Yardbirds and the Rolling Stones.

A typical set by Brilleaux consists of a mixture of British R&B classics and original material that they’ve been performing at festivals in their home country since 1999.

They take their name from Lee Brilleaux, co-founder of Dr Feelgood.

They play The Seahorse in Gosport this evening and The Cellars, Eastney on Sunday.

The Seahorse gig is free and starts at 9pm. Tickets for The Cellars gig are £8 in advance and £10 on the door.
