Despite their name, Manchester Orchestra are neither from the north west of England or an orchestra.

But they are an unapologetically heavy rock band from Atlanta, Georgia. Now 10 years and four albums in to their career, they released their latest, Cope, in March this year.

Self-produced alongside the bands’s long-time collaborating partner Dan Hannon, they recorded it in the home studio they built themselves after six months spent gutting and refurbishing the old house they used to live in together.

It has become their best-performing album to date – breaking the US top 20 album chart and getting to number five in the UK rock album chart.

They play The Wedgewood Rooms on Friday, September 26, doors open 7.30pm. Tickets are £14.
