JUNIOR DJ Ted Lavender has scored a gig at this summer’s Notting Hill Carnival after wowing the crowds at Lily Allen’s wedding.

The 12-year-old from Purbrook, who performs as Ted at the Controls, had already played at the Isle of Wight Festival on Friday when he played a set at the pop star’s wedding reception in Gloucestershire on Saturday night.

And after dazzling with a set of early reggae and ska classics from Desmond Dekker, The Ethiopians and Junior Murvin, he hung out with musicians such as Mark Ronson and Professor Green.

Ted said: ‘It was really good and I’ve got another gig out of it. I didn’t do a long set because there were a lot of bands and DJs playing, but there were a lot of people dancing.’

Miss Allen married building company owner Sam Cooper.

Dad Andy was there with the rest of the family and added: ‘It was a great weekend. It was set up like a festival at the reception and Ted got to talk with Lily for a bit and he had a great time networking.’
