Wet Wet Wet lead singer Marti Pellow, who has previously starred in stage musicals Chicago and The Witches Of Eastwick, will unleash his darkest side in the dual title role of Jekyll And Hyde at the Southampton Mayflower this spring.

The hit Broadway musical is based on Robert Louis Stevenson's classic gothic novella about a brilliant but obsessive scientist whose sadistic alter ego wreaks havoc across Victorian London in a tale of love, redemption and the seductive power of evil.

It was written by Frank Wildhorn with Oscar-winning composer Leslie Bricusse (Stop The World I Want to Get Off, Scrooge, Doctor Dolittle), and features hit song This Is The Moment.

The production will run from March 28 to April 2. The Mayflower is already taking bookings for a show the year after next – a leg of the first national tour of Dirty Dancing.

Based on one of the most successful hit musicals in West End history, it is now in its fifth year at the Aldwych Theatre in London.

The touring version will be at the Mayflower from April 3-28, 2012.
