REVIEW: Grimm’s Tales For Young and Old by Chichester Festival Youth Theatre

Have your say

The Raymond and Mr Timpkins Revue grace the stage at Jongleurs this weekend after narrowly missing out on a Chortle Comedy Award on Monday.

The Portsmouth funnymen and Guide Awards nominees were up for Best Music or Variety Act at the ceremony hosted by Al Murray on Monday night.

Tony Salmon (AKA Mr Timpkins) says: ‘Don’t ask me how we got into the final four nominations against global competition, but a runner-up to Tim Minchin is pretty good in my book and that’s where we came.

‘It was a surreal night, being just metres away from a stage where Richard E Grant presents an award to Victoria Wood.

‘We were even observing one short section of the ceremony from the bottom of a sweeping staircase as we conversed with James May from Top Gear, who was presenting the TV & Radio Award. The Revue have fans in strange places!’

Ray and Timps return to reality tonight with a gig at Jongleurs in Tiger Tiger, Gunwharf Quays. They appear alongside Angie McEvoy, Imran Yusuf and Adam Crow in a top line-up that returns to the venue for a second show tomorrow night.
