Jack FM Comedy Network Presents... returned to the Guildhall for the third time, to the event’s biggest crowd yet.

Host Paul McCaffrey impressed with his sarcastic, quick-witted compering, much of which involved audience interaction.

First up was 22-year-old, Ahir Shah. Bursting onto the stage with a ‘physique that looks like you should donate two pounds a month’, the articulate graduate started well. However his inexperience soon showed, losing his way with longer gags and struggling to handle drunken hecklers.

Headline act, Carl Donnelly – a self-confessed Rolf Harris lookalike – had the audience laughing with his conversational style about topics such as the benefits of same-sex relationships and the Australian outback.

Due to interruptions from the audience, his last gag took far longer than intended. However, unlike Shah, his effortless quick-wit and professionalism in dealing with the raucous members of the crowd only added to the humour.
