The Wedgewood Rooms provided another night of laughter as three promising comics took to the stage to entertain a packed crowd.

The evening was compered by Joe Wells, recently voted Portsmouth Guide Awards comic of the year.

On a night that didn’t have a stand-out headliner, all three acts were equally impressive making it difficult to single any out.

Firstly, Maff Brown had the audience laughing from his first sentence by mocking his ridiculous hair. His audience interaction was particularly funny.

Barry Castagnola was also humorous in self-deprecating style, particularly with reference to his name. He shared hilarious anecdotes including being high at a Lionel Richie concert and had the audience cringeing by calling his mother a solid six.

Finally Steve Williams closed the show. His set included a priceless impression of Andy Murray and an amusing tale involving his girlfriend, glitter and a gynaecologist. A fantastic evening for all comedy fans.
