ACTORS have thrown their weight behind a theatre’s campaign.

Portsmouth’s New Theatre Royal is offering everyone the chance to become a part of its history and sponsor a seat once it reopens following a £4.5m redevelopment.

The ‘Take a Seat’ campaign has been backed by the likes of actors Sheila Hancock, Joanna David, Edward Fox, Tim West and Prunella Scales and singer-songwriter Beatie Wolfe.

Wave 105 presenter Rick Jackson is supporting the initiative.

He said: ‘This historical building, in the heart of the city, is a place I have visited and enjoyed many times.’

To sponsor a seat, call Fiona Wilson on 07933 613836 or email fiona@newtheatreroyal.com.
