Tamasha means commotion, creating a stir. And that’s exactly what the group’s new production, Snookered, has done.
Written by a full-time taxi driver, Ishy Din, it confronts a largely unseen part of British Muslim life.
At the Nuffield Theatre, Southampton from April 3-5, the new play first emerged when Ishy took part in the Tamasha Developing Artists New Writing course in 2008.
A game of pool and a couple of drinks among friends soon becomes an evening of betrayal with Tamasha’s Snookered.
The plot follows four friends on the sixth anniversary of their friend’s death.
n Tickets cost £10 to £16 from the Nuffield Theatre, Southampton on (023) 8067 1771 or go to nuffieldtheatre.co.uk.
