South Pacific has been causing a stir for the last few months in London’s West End, and is now out on a national tour.
Starring EastEnders actress Samantha Womack, the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical is looking for three boys and six girls to perform with the cast at their Mayflower Theatre, Southampton run, from January 17 until February 4.
The roles needing to be filled are that of Ngana (female) and Jerome (male), the two illegitimate children of Emile de Becque.
The playing age of the children must be between eight and 11 years old, with black, mixed-race Caucasian/black or similar skin tone, and have some singing and movement skills.
A third character will also need to be filled, with a female child to play Bloody Mary’s native helper, who should have the same appearance and skills as the other two characters.
The production requires three boys and six girls to share the character roles throughout the run.
To audition for any of the three roles for South Pacific at the Mayflower Theatre, Southampton, applicants are asked to email firstname.lastname@example.org with their name, photograph, age and contact details, to arrange an audition.
All auditions will take place on November 12. The venue has not been confirmed so contact the theatre on (023) 8071 1811.
