Contortionists and hoop divers come to the Kings Theatre, Southsea, tonight as the Chinese State Circus presents Yin Yang.

The UK premiere will showcase Chinese tradition with a silk aerial act, parasol juggling, an ey-catching lion dance, the famous Chinese poles and the bicycle act, which includes 10 performers as they manoeuvre on a single bicycle.

They will be joined by a number of other members of the circus who perform somersaults, leaps and jumps as part of the show. The evening will also feature an all-female group of live musicians.

The Yin Yang tour, meaning ‘the interaction of two energies in a dynamic system of balance’, is also the first UK appearance of the Shaolin Warrior known only as ‘the one’.

Tickets: £18 to £25 from the Kings Theatre, Southsea, on (023) 9282 8282 or go to kings-southsea.com.
