Fighting fit from sell-out shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Snuff Box Theatre is performing Bitch Boxer at The Point, Eastleigh, tonight at 7.30pm.

Chloe is 21 years old from Leytonstone, and she loves the simple things in life: cherry sambuca, hairspray-in-the-mirror karaoke and winding up her dad. But she’s also an amateur boxer.

The young sports star dreams of becoming a gold medallist at the London Olympics, so she trains for the fight of her life. In a man’s world can she prove she’s got what it takes?

Bitch Boxer was written by Charlotte Josephine, winner of the Soho Young Writer’s Awards 2012. The play is suitable for over-14s.

Tickets cost £8 to £10 from The Point, Eastleigh, on (023) 8065 2333 or go to thepointeastleigh.co.uk.

Another theatre in Southampton is welcoming a touring production in the coming week as The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists will be staged at The Berry Theatre, Hedge End.

Based on the book by Robert Tressell and adapted for the stage by Townsend Productions, the Edwardian play tells the story of a group of painters and decorators who are joined by the artist Owen.

His socialist vision highlights the exploitation in the workplace and inequality they work in.

Tickets cost £8 to £10 from The Berry Theatre, Hedge End, on (01489) 799499 or go to theberrytheatre.co.uk.
