Programmes have been announced for the two Music in the Round concerts to be given by members of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra in Portsmouth.

Both feature section leaders - from the strings on Friday, October 19, and from the winds on Friday, January 25.

The opening concert features the String Trio in B flat by Schubert, Mozart’s Dissonance Quartet, and the Clarinet Quintet by Brahms in which the lead role will be played by BSO principal clarinettist Kevin Banks.

Then on January 25, soloists on oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn and piano will play quintets by Beethoven and Mozart and music by Glinka, Saint-Saens, Beethoven, Poulenc, Ravel.

Music in the Round 
concerts take place in the Third Floor Arts Centre, Portsmouth Central Library (7.30pm). Other dates are December 7, February 15, March 22 and May 10. Further information from port.ac.uk/musicintheround or bsolive.com/concerts/portsmouthchamber.
