A collaboration between leading figures of mystery fiction and country music comes to the Ashcroft in Fareham on Wednesday.

The Other Half is an original story by best-selling crime writer Mark Billingham, accompanied by the poignant songs of internationally-acclaimed Americana duo My Darling Clementine.

A former Las Vegas showgirl works double shifts in a rundown Memphis bar. Alone and estranged from her daughter, Marcia lives life vicariously through her customers and their lives – tales of grief and heartbreak, lust, murder and domestic horror.

Serving beer and burgers, Marcia reflects on her doomed shot at happiness before she receives a call that changes everything.

Mark and My Darling Clementine will be available to sign books and albums after the show.

Tickets: £11-£12, visit hampshireculturaltrust.org.uk/ashcroft-arts-centre to book.
