REVIEW: Crazy For You, at Mayflower Theatre in Southampton

Have your say

Picking a pocket or two, Portsmouth-born Alan Jenkins is taking a trip back to Dickensian London as he plays the role of Fagin in Bognor Regis.

The chairman of South Downe Musical Society is performing in Oliver! at the Alexandra Theatre from April 12-14.

Alan says: ‘Obviously everyone associates Fagin with the magnificent Ron Moody portrayal from the film, but I am neither his build or age! So thank goodness for people like Rowan Atkinson.

‘He received rave reviews for his Fagin, whilst not being the traditionally tall and skinny master thief.’

Alan will also be playing Francis Fryer in Calamity Jane at the Kings Theatre, Southsea from April 24-28.

n Tickets cost £12 to £14 from the Alexandra Theatre, Bognor Regis on (01243) 861010 or go to regiscentre.co.uk.
