Many people know what it feels like to have had one to many, and waking up the next morning with a thumping headache.

The Paper Birds theatre company know all about the nation’s love affair with alcohol, and focuses on the idea of ‘Booze Britain’ in its play, Thirsty.

Arriving at the Ashcroft Arts Centre on February 29, Thirsty weaves together real stories, memories, and confessions, collected from questionnaires and hot-lines.

Going beyond statistics, facts, and figures, Thirsty looks to the faces and the voices of everyone who likes a drink and asks; Why are we so thirsty?

The Paper Birds creates work from a female perspective, and looks at the stories of women.
