Havant is a very long way away from Peru but the bear who loves marmalade sandwiches will be at The Spring from next Thursday.
The Adventures of a Bear Called Paddington will be sure to delight young and old fans alike.
Theatre company HumDrum will bring this innocent, accident-prone bear to life, as part of this year’s Christmas programme of entertainment.
Adapted by playwright Alfred Bradley from Michael Bond’s much-loved stories – and with songs written specially for the show – it’s the perfect way to enjoy a bit of pre-festive cheer.
Bond created one of literature’s perennial favourites in 1958. Now, some 53 years later, Paddington is still as popular as ever – the most recent novel was published in 2008.
As well as bringing to life Paddington Bear himself, the show will also feature Mr and Mrs Brown, Judy and Jonathan, Mrs Bird, Mr Gruber and Mr Curry.
The first performance takes place at 7pm on Thursday. More performances will then take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Tickets cost £8.50, or £7 for concessions, with family tickets also available.
