As the days get longer and the nights shorter, it means spring is on its way. But it also means theatres in the area are opening their doors after a December of pantomimes and fairy tales.

From January 16-19, the Groundlings Theatre, Portsea will play host to Fareham Musical Society’s production of Fawlty Towers.

The following month, the theatre is putting on a range of productions, including Closer, a tale of a quartet of strangers who meet, fall in love and self-destruct (February 7-9) and Suitcase Circus, with a sock that presents some extraordinarily talented performing objects (February 9).

Sing along to Voices of The West End on February 18, while history also has a theme with Olaf the ’Orrible and The Mummy’s Tomb on February 19.

Adolescence is a rough ride in What Are They Like?, a production by the Groundlings Theatre Company from February 22-23, and discover The Watery Journey of Neureus Pike on February 28. Other spring performances include My Fair Lady, Our Town, Little Mermaid and The Nightingale.
