THEATRE lovers will be in for a treat at an annual charity gala show.
The Kings Theatre, Southsea, will hold an evening of fun-filled entertainment for worthy causes on Saturday, September 7, at 7.30pm.
Each year, the occasion raises money for a number of charities as well as towards the upkeep of the historic premises.
This time around it’s going to help Macmillan Cancer Support’s charity fundraisers in Portsmouth because people connected to the theatre have been affected by cancer.
Theatre staff began making preparations when they held meeting with the charity’s chairwoman Lesley Mitchell and treasurer Sarah Clarke.
The pair brought their bear mascot along with them in support.
The show will include performances from local professional and amateur dancers that specialise in contemporary, urban and traditional styles.
Sandra Smith, group bookings and promotions manager for the Kings Theatre, said: ‘The charity we are supporting is a relatively new one in Portsmouth, but we hope to raise as much money as we can. It’s a really fun event and we will have all different styles of dancing.’
