Hayling Island Amateur Dramatic Society is performing a classic novel, adapted to the stage, with Terry Pratchett’s Maskerade.

Adapted by Stephen Briggs from his 18th Discworld Novel, the story begins with Agnes Nitt leaving Lancre to seek a career at the Opera House in Ankh-Morpork.

Agnes Nitt is chosen as a member of the chorus, where she meets Christine. The Opera House ghost, who has long haunted the building, begins to commit some deadly acts.

The production runs from May 19-26 at the Station Theatre, Hayling Island and is directed by Alan Hoad.

Tickets cost £7 from HIADS on (023) 9246 6363 or go to hayling-dramatics.hampshire.org.uk.
