After the death of Tony Curtis last year, Hayling Musical Society will present the stage version of his film, Some Like it Hot.

Entitled Sugar!, it follows the fortunes of Jerry and Joe, two hapless musicians. After witnessing the Valentine’s Day Massacre, they disguise themselves as members of an all girls’ band – and fun and frolics follow as they find their inner femininity– and love on a Miami beach.

Music by Styne and Merrill (Gypsy, Funny Girl) will help transport audiences back to the 1920s jazz era.

n Performances at the Station Theatre, Station Road, Hayling Island, from Tuesday to Saturday, daily at 7.30pm with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm. Tickets: (023) 9246 6363 or haylingmusical.com.
