THE team behind a hit musical will be collecting for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal while they’re in town.

All Or Nothing: the Mod Musical recounts the story of the group The Small Faces and the rise of the sharp-dressed, Vespa-loving mod movement and is currently playing at The Kings Theatre in Albert Road, Southsea, as part of a nationwide tour.

The show’s creator Carol Harrison said: ‘We love The Kings, it’s got such a great history, and of course with Tommy being filmed here, it ties in nicely with the mods.

‘It’s not a jukebox musical – people don’t just break into song, it is the story of the band.

‘It’s got humour and it’s got pathos and people have said it conveys the excitement of the time. It’s more like a play with music.’

And she explained why they’ve picked the RBL: ‘One of our staff works with the British Legion every year, and with it being the 100th anniversary of The Somme and being here in Portsmouth, it seemed appropriate to do something.

‘We’ll be rattling the buckets at the shows and we hope to raise quite a bit of money for them.’

The show is on again tonight and Saturday. For tickets, call (023) 9282 8282, or go online at kingsportsmouth.co.uk
