Since 2005, Dr Sketchy’s Anti-Art School has been the name in alternative drawing.

From illegal flashmobs to the Museum of Modern Art, Dr Sketchy’s has brought artists a rule-breaking cocktail of dames, drinking and drawing.

Mixing cabaret and burlesque stylings with the traditional art of life drawing, the Anti-Art School breaks the boundaries of artistic convention.

The brainchild of artist Molly Crabapple, Dr Sketchy’s branches draw in over a hundred cities around the globe, from Akron to Zagreb and now Portsmouth.

The Portsmouth branch of Dr Sketchy’s is run by infamous cabaret reprobate Joe Black, who takes a no-nonsense approach to life drawing.

From lovers of stick men to painters of fine portraits, all are welcome to join in on the absurdity.

So expect the unexpected and sharpen those pencils, ready to have a wonderful afternoon of drinking, games and tacky prizes!

Dr Sketchy’s Anti-Art School meets at the Wedgewood Rooms, Southsea at midday today.

Tickets: £8. Call (023) 9286 3911 or visit wedgewood-rooms.co.uk for more details.
