Lisa Riley is returning to the Kings Theatre, Southsea on Sunday, September 7 to compere the autumn charity show Fused!
The patron of the theatre will be joined by local actor Christopher Marlowe who will welcome professional and amateur dancers to the stage.
Speaking about the event and her return to the city Lisa says: ‘I love coming back to the Kings as the theatre will always make me feel warm and comfortable.
‘I’ve done pantos and plays on its stage and I enjoy getting involved with their events to keep the theatre alive.
‘The Kings is one of my favourite theatres and it holds many memories for me.
‘Fused! is going to be a fantastic show and the dancing elements are close to my heart. Dancing is a great way to get people into exercise and Strictly Come Dancing showed me that.
‘I was proof in the pudding that bigger girls can do it and this is the message I wanted to give to people.
Fused! features a range of dance collaborations from contemporary, urban and traditional dance styles.
Taking centre stage will be Redmand Le Rance, who has just completed a three year contract as Billy Elliot in the West End, London.
The show will feature Flavio de Brito with Tango de Noches dancers, Most Wanted, The Show Girlz, Giselle Academy of Dance, Marie School of Dance, The Boyle O’Dowda Academy of Irish Dance and Portsmouth Chinese Association singing and dancing group.
Profits from the event will be split between the Kings Theatre and Portsmouth Mind – a charity that offers mental health support.
Fused! takes place Sunday, September 7, at 6pm. Tickets cost £10, concession tickets are available, and can be bought from the box office, (023) 9282 8282, or through the website, kings-southsea.com.
