Get out your glitterballs for an award-winning comedy about an 80‘s disco as Bouncers comes to the Minerva Theatre in Chichester.
Written and directed by John Godber, this is the colourful tale of a night on the town, featuring rowdy young men and women, a cheesy DJ, late night kebabs and the taxi ride home. The action unfolds under the watchful gaze of the ever-present doormen Lucky Eric, Judd, Les and Ralph.
The play has been performed all over the world in different languages and was included in a new app produced by the V&A museum.
Godber’s writing credits include Up ‘n’ Under and Teechers. He has written over 60 plays and is one of the most performed writers in the English language.
The cast features Adrian Hood (Brassed Off, The Syndicate) as Judd and Frazer Hammill as Les (Flint Street Nativity, Teechers).
Bouncers is at the Minerva Theatre from 3 – 7 February at 7.45pm, Wednesday and Saturday matinees at 2.45pm. There will be a post-show talk at the theatre on Thursday, February 5. Limited availability, tickets: £16-22. Visit cft.org.uk or call 01243 781312.
